C.C Atlantico Shopping Center in Vecindario offers a good selection of shops for those wanting a shopping day from the south of Gran Canaria.
Shops
Carrefour supermarket, is one of the main attractions of this center, where you can buy all of your necessities from clothing to food and drink. If you are staying in the south of the island for a long holiday and have a rent a car, you can stock up on groceries on the drive down to your resort.
Electronic shops such as Worten and the technology department of Carrefour are where you can find large home appliances such as washing machines, fridge freezers and televisions. GAME is a specialist shop where you can find video games and consoles, although you can find these in Worten and Carrefour, GAME has a trade in service for old games and sells credit to buy games online.
There are plenty of clothes shops with everything from casual, formal wear to sports gear and accessories. Estadio Sport on the top floor and Estadio Sport Premium on the lower floor have the latest sports clothes including football shirts and trainers. Here you will find all of the main sports brands in one place. There is a great selection of training shoes and footwear in small to large sizes in the latest styles including Adidas, Nike, Skechers, Vans and Reebok. They also have a loyalty card which you can benefit from right away with a discount off your purchase.
Toys and games can be found at NIKKI toy shop. If you are looking for toys for small children there are reputable brands here like Fisher Price and Mattel. Monster High and Barbie dolls are usually kept in good stock alongside LEGO sets and some more traditional toys.
The Body Shop has a lovely range of skin and body care products for yourself or gifts. If you are looking for something a little bit quirky or geeky then head to Natura where you can find everything from lovely cotton clothing to funky gadgets and home items.
Atlantico Vecindario rebajas or sales usually run from 7th January until the end of March and start up again in July.
Restaurants
Atlantico Center Vecindario restaurants vary from fast food to traditional. McDonalds (there's a McAuto drive through in the car park and also a diner inside), Dennys Roy and Foster's Hollywood are great for American style burgers and nachos.
For a really nice pizza you can try out Pizza Royers in the car park, they also do takeaway. If you feel like some more traditional Canarian food then try La Pintadera. It is very popular for dishes such as arroz a la cubana and their pata.
Of course you may just want some coffee and cake after an afternoon of shopping, so you must try Panaria on the top floor. With a mouthwatering display of homebaked cakes and buns, delicious brownies and cookies, it's the perfect place to rest.
Dunkin' Coffee Gran Canaria is now open with a selection of iced coffee, donuts, toasties and bagels.
Atmosphere
CC Atlantico is an indoor shopping center, which is great for those hot days as you can enjoy the air con. The spacey, light atmosphere is great for browsing in comfort although it can get very busy on Saturday or weekdays after 4pm.
Leisure
New Park arcade on the ground floor is an arcade with a great range of machines including simulators, 80s videogames and grabber games.
Yelmo Cines is an 11 screen cinema which shows the latest films in Spanish. This is open every day and is fully air conditioned so you can enjoy some popcorn and the latest release in comfort. It tends to get very busy at weekends, especially if there is a children's film out and queues can get long so you can buy your tickets from the machine or online and enjoy a drink at one of the nearby restaurants instead of standing in line.
There are often events for children held in the center, especially in the school holidays when there is often a stage set up by the escalators. During the Christmas season there is a huge tree by the main entrance which goes right up to the top floor and a very detailed miniature nativity scene (Belén) can also be seen.
FREE WIFI is available throughout the shopping center, you can also connect free to McDonalds WIFI if you have any problems with the main one.
How to get there
Close to the airport and about 15 minutes drive from the resorts in the south of Gran Canaria, Atlantico Shopping Center is in the perfect location. You can easily reach the center by Global bus, rent a car or taxi. There is free car parking at the center with more than 2,000 spaces including spaces for pregnant women and accessible parking.
Opening Times
The shops at CC Atlantico Shopping Center are open everyday EXCEPT Sundays from 10am-10pm. Although the shops are closed on Sunday, you can still enjoy food and drink or a visit to the cinema.
During December and part of January they change to Christmas shopping hours which includes Sunday.
