The Friday Market of Puerto de Mogán can get so busy, so we opted to visit Little Venice mid-week for lunch instead. Despite it being a Wednesday at the start of the school year, the charming fishing village was packed with visitors!
Luckily it wasn’t too busy to find places to eat and drink. After a walk around taking in the bright buganvilla adorned streets and taking LOTS of photos lol, we decided on Billy’s Bar for lunch. It was a very hot day and the idea of a light lunch in the shade by the harbour was exactly what we needed.

Right off the bat we were greeted and seated. The staff at Billy’s are so friendly, multilingual and efficient! They were so busy but kept the flow of food and drinks coming to thirsty and hungry customers like the perfect crew on a ship.
The bar opened in 1985 by Billy Dennehy and many of the staff have been working there for 20 years! Irish owned this bar restaurante is inviting to all with dishes to entice most palettes.
The menu was quite varied and we’ll definitely go back to try some of the other dishes. This time we ordered the Tuna Sandwich and the Club Sandwich, both came with fries. These went well with a couple of ice cold Fantas, super refreshing after exploring the pretty streets of Mogán.

The sandwiches are toasted on huge thick bread and the fries were delicious and already salted – make sure to taste them before you put any seasoning on them.
The terraza was lovely and shaded, bonus points for the outdoor ceiling fans! There is a lovely view of the harbour from most tables and the general buzz of the square all adds to the atmosphere.
For those wanting to holiday in the beautiful apartments around Mogán harbour, there is information all around Billy’s as it’s the same business in partnership with Livvo Hotels.
Many day visitors to this village eventually turn into overnight guests, because who wouldn’t want to stay in this gorgeous place?
I recommend Billy’s for tasty light lunch, friendly atmosphere and location. The beach area can get very busy, sometimes quite the tourist trap, so head to the harbour and you will find Billy’s in the square by the bandstand.
Tip: If you aren’t a fan of hustle and bustle, avoid Friday Market day, Saturday and Sunday. If you want a quieter market day with the same stalls go to Arguineguin’s Tuesday Market.
