Mogan Mall Shopping Center in Puerto Rico is the biggest shopping center in Gran Canaria south!
It's located on the old Puerto Rico waterpark site on Avenida Tómas Roca Bosch next to Puerto Rico Shopping Center and below Servatur Terrazamar. There is a separate shopping center opposite called The Market Puerto Rico.
Mogan Mall Puerto Rico is an open air style shopping center project which spans 44.000m2 with 144 locals for shops bars and restaurants. Architect José M Aguirre Vila-Coro who has previously worked on El Tablero Shopping Center has designed a volcanic rock style facade with gardens set naturally into Puerto Rico valley while respecting the barranco that flows through the area when we have heavy rain.
This 26 million euro investment that turned the old waterpark land into a new center is headed by El Tablero Shopping Center owner and entreprenuer Amid Achi and Javier Puga. Taking this into consideration it's no suprise that the centers look a little similar with regards to specific shops, businesses, style and ethics.
Mogan Mall Shops
Most shopping centers have a large supermarket and seeing as one of Mogan Mall's investors Javier Puga is also the CEO of Hiperdino, we have a Superdino supermarket in the new center which is great competition with Mercadona in Motor Grande. Perfume and jewellery store Funde Grube can be found in Mogan Mall as well as Pull and Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka and Lefties.
There are also sport shops such as Base, JD Sports. Skechers, Lacoste and AW LAB which have great offers on trainers and the latest sportswear.
For gifts or novelty items head to Natura or Alehop and there's a lovely aloe vera shop called Finca Canarias.
Mogan Mall Restaurants and Bars
When it comes to restaurants, Mogan Mall have you covered. McDonalds has a McAuto drive thru at the end of the center which also does home deliveries. If it's coffee you need, then head to Cafe Regina, don't forget to try their carrot cake! There's also Bistro Iberico, right in front of the fountain which does a great coffee, or order something from their gin bar if you prefer.
As you go up past the fountain, 100 Montaditos is the first place you find. This is great sunspot with full outdoor terrace and nice if you want some cold beers and baguette style sandwiches with every flavour. Next there is the Italian restaurant, La Mafia, but they have yet to open.
Then we have Pad Thai Wok, which does the most delicious curries. You have the best view of the fountain and plaza from their terrace. Next up is fusion restaurant SushiMex then the much anticipated Taj Palace Indian restaurant. Next door is Papis Grill and further down the ramp we have the ice cream shop Di un Gelato, they do an amazing Nutella crepe.
Along the front there is the newly opened Elellu bakery and another favourite of mine Noodlebox and Sushi who do live cooking of your selected ingredients while you watch. They have a small terrace or you can takeaway.
All this and more, Mogan Mall has the most spectacular fountain which has a sound and light show every evening. This is best viewed from the plaza and it keeps you cool on those hot days in Puerto Rico.
