The beach road in Arguineguin has become very busy lately, due to the construction on the main road through the village. The bus route now includes the beach road and the main bus stop is on the corner of Playa de las Marañuelas by Ferreteria Tomas and Supermercado Leon. Next door to Impression beach shop, a new Spar supermarket has appeared.
The top apartment building is for sale and is owned by Arguineguin born footballer David Silva. The lower unit is now Spar Express Arguineguin. At the time of writing, it looks almost ready to open. The floor polishing crew have already been in and the signage is up.
It appears that they have misplaced the second ‘s' for the main sign so it says ‘expres'. (It will forever annoy me) Ok it seems they read this blog, as the missing ‘s' has been added now 😉
There is also an ATM machine on the outside wall of the building. As of mid-March this Spar is still yet to open. It looks like there may still be some electrical jobs to attend to or possibly a paper to sign before they officially open for business.
It looks like the main Spar in the high street may be having a quieter time with the construction and so have opened a smaller shop to take advantage of the flurry of people on the beach road.
