As Gran Canaria heads into Springtime, we should see daytime temperatures of 26ºC degrees. The days can start to feel hot with a taster of what's to come in the Summer months. After the clocks go forward one hour at the end of March, we can enjoy the beach longer into the evening and the sunset will be around 20:15h.
According to our data from previous years, there is still a chance of showers and storms in March but heatwaves are possible too. In general it's a pleasant month for visitors who don't like extreme heat but still like to sunbathe and enjoy the outdoors.
March 8th 2020
The calima is back but it's nowhere near as heavy as the one at the end of February! The blue sky is here, but the wind is a bit dusty and warm. Temperatures reached around 30ºC degrees in Puerto Rico this afternoon which made the perfect beach day followed by some cold drinks in Shopping Center Puerto Rico.
March 29th 2019
It's been a beautiful day in Puerto Rico today, sunny and blue skies with cloud over the mountains. Amadores beach was basking in full sunshine with temperatures around 23ºC degrees out in the sun.
There was some heavy rain in Arguineguin last night, which seems to have missed Puerto Rico. We have yellow weather warnings until Sunday 31st for heavy rain across the island of Gran Canaria. Evening temps are a little cooler at about 19ºC-12ºC degrees. We could be in for a rainy week!
St Patrick's Weekend March 17th – 18th 2018
What a lovely weekend it's been in south Gran Canaria so far! Resorts on the island have been celebrating St. Patrick's Day and what better than to celebrate the luck of the Irish in the Canarian sunshine.
La Lajilla beach in Arguineguin was busy with people enjoying the new sunbathing deck. It's the perfect weather for topping up that tan with daytime temperatures of around 27ºC degrees.
18:00h on Puerto Rico beach is still a great time to be enjoying some relaxation on the sand.
March 12th 2018
It's Monday but it's ok because the sun is shining! It's been absolutely lovely weather today in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria.
We had a light breeze from the Atlantic which complimented the hot sunshine and many people were taking advantage of that on Puerto Rico beach this afternoon. The forecast looks good for the next couple of days and the UV index is rising up to 8 which means the sun is more intense and you can get burnt in a shorter amount of time.
March 7th 2018
Happy Hump Day from Puerto Rico! Halfway through the week and the sun is shining down. It been quite hot the last couple of days. We get asked a lot ‘How how is it in Puerto Rico?', ‘Is it sunbathing weather?' The answer can be found in these photographs.
5th March 2018
This is what Monday 5th March looks like in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria! Want to go on a stroll with us? Let's go!
After a week where we had 3 storms with cloudy days and even some rainy days, this week looks is a complete contrast and it feels like Spring has sprung.
With a temperature of around 25ºC, degrees people were all enjoying this fantastic Monday morning in paradise.
A Rainy Start to March 2018
If you have been following our February weather reports then you will know that we have had 3 storms hit the Canary Island, one after another.
Things have been a little better today on the 1st of the month, but we could see some rain over the weekend. All weather warnings and alerts have ended and things should start looking brighter after the weekend.
11th March 2017
What a hot week! Many people have been asking us if these temperatures of 32ºC are normal for March. It's because of a calima, hot wind and sand which lifted up from the Sahara desert causing high temps and humidity on Gran Canaria.
A normal temperature for this month is about 26ºC degrees. This means the UV index is higher and it's important to use sun protection. Also a great excuse to bathe in the Atlantic Ocean all day long 🙂
March 8th 2017
Today has been very hot, especially for March! This afternoon temperatures were around 32ºC degrees in El Tablero and 28ºC in Arguineguin. The air is hot but despite that the sky has been quite blue today. We do, however have a yellow weather warning for Thursday and Friday for suspended dust, which we call a calima. It's when sand is lifted up from the Sahara Desert and is blown over the Canary Islands.
The UV index is still higher than usual and we are expecting reduced visibility so that means the sky could look very hazy tomorrow and Friday. Temperatures will probably be around the same 30ºC degrees more or less during the daytime, feeling fresher of an evening.
March 6th 2017
It feels like we went from Winter to Summer in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria today!
We do have a heatwave on the way this week, with temperatures of 30ºC degrees expected. The UV index is set to rise too, so make sure you wear the right sunscreen and take shade when you can. Of course stay hydrated too.
March 1st 2017
It's a new month and already starting to feel like Spring in Gran Canaria. Today has been hot and hazy with a light calima hovering over the island. Day time temperatures are around 26ºC degrees with a UV index of 7 which means that you can still burn, even in this winter sun.
There is a chance of rain forecast for the weekend, which if it does happen is very typical for this time of year. It nearly always rains during Carnival season, but if it does it won't last long.
March 30th 2016
April showers have arrived early! It started off as a warm and sunny day but as the afternoon went on, the clouds dominated the sky. In Patalavaca one side of the sky was blue with clouds, while the other side towards Tenerife was angry with rain clouds.
It rained heavily for about an hour with a couple rumbles of thunder, but the sunshine pushed through and the blue sky has come back in time for sunset.
There is actually a weather warning for heavy rain in the western Canary Islands, and rain predicted for the south of Gran Canaria for tomorrow too. As always I will keep you posted.
March 28th 2016
It's almost April, this year is flying by! Summer will soon be here, although it feels like it already with temperatures of 28ºC degrees in south Gran Canaria.
I took a quick walk on the promenade at Patalavaca today. The restaurants seemed to be doing well as did the small supermarket. The town hall have cleared the tall wispy trees from by the ramp so the beach view is totally different now.
25th March 2016
Is it too soon to say Summer is here? Maybe, but the temperatures in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria are currently around 28ºC degrees in the full sun. There is a cool breeze but it's very welcome. It's perfect tanning weather if you ask us. (pic riu vistamar)
March 9th 2016
How does blue skies and sunshine sound? After a little weather blip and the first calima of the year, Spring is on the way. The sun is shining the sky is a beautiful blue hue and the beaches are full of happy sun seekers.
The temperatures are about 25ºC degrees but could be a lot more intense if you find a sun trap. There is a lovely breeze and the forecast for the rest of the week looks great too!
We went to Amadores Beach in Puerto Rico for a stroll and to get some afternoon sunshine. We parked up in the car park at the back of Amadores Beach Club and headed for that lovely green ocean.
March 2nd 2016
I wish I could tell you that it was sunshine and blue skies today in south Gran Canaria, but I like to keep it real. At the moment we have what’s called a calima, basically suspended sand from the Sahara desert is lingering in the sky. It makes the horizon look horrible but the temperatures usually go up, despite it looking gloomy.
This is the view from the Altamadores in Puerto Rico this afternoon. You can see down to Amadores Beach from there and it’s actually a really nice walk down. If you are into hiking you might like the walk back up too! 😉
27th March 2015
After a few strange weather days with clouds and sunshine, spring has sprung and Puerto Rico GC weather is back on track.
We have gorgeous blue skies perfect for setting up around the pool to enjoy those sun rays and top up your tan.
21st March 2015
AEMET have issued a weather warning for heavy rain commencing Sunday 22nd March on Gran Canaria. There has already been ice and snowfall on the peaks in Tenerife in the last few days plus some rain showers on other islands.
Yesterday in south Gran Canaria, like today, started off sunny but soon turned cloudy in the afternoon. Today has been beautiful although there are some clouds lurking.
Here’s a short video I filmed on Friday down on Playa de las Marañuelas in Arguineguin just before the rain started. It didn’t rain for very long.
The warning is in place for the whole island from 06:00 until midnight on Sunday. As always I will keep you updated on the situation, especially since we also have snow forecast for Gran Canaria’s peaks.
12th March 2015
March started with some sandstorms known as calima on the island, the sky was dusty and the wind was warm, but it soon cleared and we've been enjoying beautiful cloudless skies like this one in Taurito. It feels like Summer has arrived early.
6th March 2015
AEMET have issued a yellow weather warning for suspended sand due to a calima over the island of Gran Canaria.
The desert sand is blowing from the Sahara and will cause hazy skies and higher temperatures than usual over the weekend of Saturday 7th March until at least Sunday evening on the 8th.
Although the warning is from Saturday, it was already very hazy today looking both out to sea and towards the mountains. In fact it was very hot yesterday when I was in Puerto de Mogan. All of the Canary Islands will be affected by this weather phenomenon, with wind warnings for the islands to the East also.
31st March 2014
In Puerto Rico the clouds from yesterday are still around, one minute it's sunbathing weather, the next minute it's ‘cold'.
30th March 2014
The daytime looked promising from Puerto Plata Apartments around 10:00am, but it turned cloudy later on in the day. Still the best weather in Europe for this time of year.
March 26th 2014
It's probably one of the hottest days of the year so far with temperatures near to 30ºC in Puerto Rico. I think Summer has arrived early.
March 25th 2014
A different view of Puerto Rico Bay from Agua de la Perra area. We have beautiful blue skies and perfect weather to enjoy the last days of March.
March 24th 2014
A very hot day on Amadores Beach in south Gran Canaria. A typical spring day in the Canary Islands.
March 20th 2014
A beautiful day in Puerto Rico. The fantastic Gloria Palace Royal swimming pool, looking very inviting, with views of Amadores Beach.
March 17th 2014 – St Patricks Day
A very warm St.Patricks Day in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria Shopping Center.
March 7th 2014
Amadores Beach again around midday today, Friday afternoon in paradise. A great start to the weekend.
March 5th 2014
Taken in the morning from outside Puerto Rico Shopping Center, this photo shows the wispy skies that are normal of a March morning in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria before midday.
March 3rd 2014
We took this photo of Amadores Beach early in the morning around 10:00am and as you can see, it was the start of a very warm day in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria.
March 23rd 2013
Patalavaca Beach is located on the Mogán coast between Anfi del Mar and Arguineguin. There are 2 small beaches within Patalavaca, one is known to locals as Don Paco and lately the beaches have experienced some huge waves.
This has caused some of the sand to recede back into the ocean and less space for sunbathing, but it’s still one of my favourite rugged beaches along the coast.
After a hard day at the office it was time for a nice stroll somewhere and what better somewhere than the promenade connecting Anfi del Mar – Patalavaca – Arguineguin.
I wanted to check out the sunset and appreciate the warmth that we have on the island for this time of year, whilst other parts of Europe are covered in frosty snow and ice.
I hope you enjoy this video of the sun setting to the left of Anfi del Mar, it’s my first HD video on YouTube after a camera upgrade so I do hope you enjoy the sound also of the waves.
March 12th 2013
It’s a really hot day today in south Gran Canaria, so to change up the pace I went to for an adventure in Playa del Cura.
Just along the coast from Puerto Rico and Taurito, Playa del Cura is small but does have several hotels to enjoy a relaxing holiday right on the beach.
March 5th 2013
The Canary Islands had an intense storm over the weekend. Yesterday there were hurricane winds and heavy rainfall in a short space of time.
It caused power cuts, trees fell, rocks fell and flights were cancelled but today was much better as most of the cloud is now up in the mountainous areas and the coastline of Mogan although hazy this evening had a pretty sunset.
March 1st 2013
AEMET released a storm warning for the Canary Islands with hurricane winds more than 100 km/h and heavy rain.
The rain is set to arrive in Gran Canaria on Saturday 2nd March with Sunday 3rd bringing the yellow warning of wind and rain, orange for the mountains.
This afternoon in Arguineguin it was beautiful but very wavy on Playa la Lajilla. There were plenty of people enjoying refreshments at local Sol y Sombra restaurant although only 3 people having a splash in the water.
March 21st 2012
Amadores Beach in Puerto Rico looked absolutely stunning this afternoon! The picturesque beach in the south-west of Gran Canaria is a beautiful place to relax and absorb the warmth and have a spring swim in the Atlantic.
March 18th 2012
It’s nearing the end of March and already the beaches are filling up as temperatures rise. Today it was around 32º degrees in Puerto Rico, with hazy skies, although much bluer than the last week.
Both Europa Center and Puerto Rico Shopping center were quiet today as the beaches were full of people and there were plenty of swimmers too! We have excellent beach weather, but don’t forget to hydrate and take shade!
The photo of the day is taken from the Agua de la Perra area of Puerto Rico, with sea views.
March 8th 2012
The easiest way to describe what a calima looks like is to show you some images. Both images below are webcam stills from Puerto Rico beach and harbour today. The one on the left is from 09:00h and the one on the right is 18:00h.
As you can see the sky this morning was brighter and blue, still a little hazy but you can see the horizon. Later this afternoon the suspended sand which blows over from the Sahara, is very low and causes bad visibility along with a more humid feeling in the air.
It is advised to drink plenty of water in the occurrence of a calima and special care to be taken for anyone with respiratory problems.
March 6th 2012
As the skies turned hazy Monday and Tuesday of this week in Gran Canaria, it was confirmed by AEMET that wind gusts will carry a calima (suspended sand) from the Sahara over to the Canaries this week. The forecast for Thursday 8th March indicates suspended dust, high clouds and wind gusts.
March 30th 2011
As we come to the end of March, the weather has been ‘cracking the flags’. Last week we experienced a calima and since then it seems like the temperature has gone up a notch.
We snapped this photo with the iPhone 3G this afternoon on Amadores Beach in Puerto Rico, temperatures have been around 30ºC degrees and certainly beach weather.
March 24th 2011
Good afternoon from a hot Puerto Rico! As you can see from our pic that we snapped from outside Altamadores, the horizon is still that little bit hazy from the calima. The temperatures must be around 28/29ºC degrees today.
It’s an excellent day for the beach, a dip in the sea and maybe a game of bat and ball. Enjoy! 🙂
March 21st 2011
After the snow, cold front and rain we had on the island in the 1st part of the month, we now have a calima, (Saharan Air Layer). There is no weather warning from AEMET, because it’s not as intense as past calimas and should just present as haze.
March 14th 2011
Yesterday Gran Canaria had the coldest day in 40 years, with negative degrees in the mountain areas and just 13ºC degrees in Puerto Rico last night.
We snapped this quick photograph of the temperature clock by Puerto Rico beach at around 22.30h last night, just before a rain shower.
The storm that was predicted with the cold front has brought a fantastic dusting of snow to the Gran Canaria mountains. The peaks of the island including Pozo de las Nieves were inundated with visitors today, as many enjoyed the snow, even sledging!
The down-side to the beautiful snow is that roads have been closed, there has been ice on the roads and people have had to call emergency services to help their stuck vehicles.
March 13th 2011
Around midday today we snapped this pic with our iPhone 3G, overlooking Las Villas de Amadores, Altamadores aparthotel and Serenity in Puerto Rico. We had some rain earlier on but the sky had cleared a little – almost like the calm before the storm.
March 12th 2011
AEMET have upgraded the forecast to yellow weather warnings for the whole of Gran Canaria for rain and snow! Yes, there has been snow on the island before, but it is quite rare to see a yellow warning for it.
A cold front approaching the islands will cause a drop in temperature along with snow in Gran Canaria mountains at 1800 meters. The warning is in place from Sunday morning.
March 10th 2011
AEMET have yet to issue any weather warnings as such, but data for the Mogán area suggests a storm for Monday in the Canary Islands including Gran Canaria.
There are high chances of rain from Saturday onwards and there is also a chance of snow in Gran Canaria over the weekend. Monday is expected to be the worst day with rain and a drop in temperature.
March 18th 2010
It seems the first “calima” of the year also known as “Saharan Air Layer” is upon us already as the temperatures have soared today up to 35ºC degrees. This time last year we also experienced this weather phenomena of suspended dust and warm wind, which originates from North Africa.
AEMET have put a yellow weather warning in place for this particular calima, which is to affect all of the Canary Islands from today Thursday, 18 March 2010 10:00 until Friday, 19 March 2010 15:00.
During a calima you may find you have a dry throat or feel like you have no energy, you must drink plenty of water and take special care if you have any respiratory problems such as asthma.
Take some shade and be very careful, although the sky looks grey and dull, the sun is still very intense and you can get very burnt, so sunscreen is still essential.
March 31st 2009
The current temperature is 21.6ºC degrees although it’s been cooler than usual today due to the clouds. The sun has been trying it’s best all day to come out but only now is it peeking through.
March 29th 2009
This morning was very sunny in the south, on the way up to Vecindario it started to get very cloudy and then it chucked it down! Absolutely battered it down. It rained on and off all the way up to Las Palmas. The temperature up there was a fresh 19ºC degrees!
On arriving back down in the south this afternoon, the temperatures were a bit warmer with sun poking through a cloudy sky. It didn’t stop the Sunday beach-goers as the weather is still warm compared to other places.
The current temperature in Arguineguin around 21ºC degrees at 23:00h.
March 27th 2009
Earlier on today, about 10:00h the sky was thick with cloud and then the rain just came from nowhere and it gushed it down. Even with the windscreen wipers on super fast, it was hard to see where we were going, but it seemed to ease off as we headed inland from El Pajar.
There were plenty of stranded cyclists, although I haven’t seen anything thunder or lightening, the skies are now blue but dark in the mountains.
March 26th 2009
AEMET have declared a yellow weather warning starting from Thursday 26th March 09 for heavy rain and storms in the Canary Islands.
Toward the end of today, the islands of La Palma and Tenerife will have heavy rain and isolated storms.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience cloudy intervals and the temperature will drop on the western side of the islands with temperatures around 13.9ºC degrees. The wind and rain is due to make an appearance in the afternoon in Gran Canaria.
Yesterday it rained in El Tablero and was cloudy in Arguineguin. Today I expected lots of rain but was greeted by 30ºC degrees, perfect for my beach walk in Las Meloneras. You could see the clouds over by the mountains and it didn’t look so clear.
There is currently a storm in Tenerife and the west of the islands, which is going to move over to Gran Canaria and the east side tomorrow. At the moment the sun is still out but we have had an alert for this so looks like it will batter it down. Batten down the hatches.
Despite warnings, nothing yet in the south of the island although the temperature has dropped a bit and the sky was really clouded over before it went dark.
March 25th 2009
If you have read my report in the previous post you will know what the weather did, almost textbook Canary Island weather is what we have had over the weekend and this morning. I was up bright and early for a beach walk and Summer is definitely making an appearance (we don’t have Spring in the south really, just summer and winter lol)
Around midday clouds made a peek around the mountains but the sun stayed, only now around 16:00h have the clouds taken over and the sun has gone in for the day by the looks of it. Current temperature in Arguineguin is 23ºC degrees.
So the question is will it rain tomorrow? I have decided I want to go to the beach and normally when I want to go to the beach it rains, let’s see.
March 20th 2009
Once again the weather is very nice and warm today down in Arguineguin. Up in Sonneland and Playa del Ingles it was a different story as it had rained hard! The clouds still lingered but eventually cleared into a sunny day. Temperatures were in the high 20’s.
Forecast for the week:
Looks like the wind could get up over the weekend with the cloud making another appearance on Sunday. Scorchio, scorchio, scorchio until around Thursday when we may see some more rain.
March 19th 2009
It’s nice and sunny today with a few cloudy intervals and quite hot when the sun was at its highest! We still have a chance of more rain in the next week as well as a few cloudy days. Temps were around 27ºC degrees today!
March 18th 2009
Last night we had quite a few rain showers and during the night or very early this morning it sounded like it was bucketing it down. There was a bit of sun earlier on today but now the skies look grey again and looks like we could be in for some more rain!
March 17th 2009
This morning’s temperatures in Arguineguin were around 28ºC degrees, but now with a cooler breeze and the calima seems to have gone. I ventured to the market and it felt boiling!
This afternoon has clouded over somewhat and just now at 15:00h it started to rain for 5 mins and then the sun came out again. It looks like it could go again though, the air smells lovely like thunderstorms.
March 16th 2009
It seems a bit better than yesterday and cooler, around 26ºC degrees at the moment, but the wind makes it feel stifling sometimes.
Those clouds are due in the south this afternoon.
Good news guys looks like we have rain on the way tomorrow! Now some people may be reading this and thinking what are you on?
Yes we do want rain! A calima although hot, is bad news, it’s not “nice and sunny”. If we have a bit of rain like is forecast, then the air will clear and we will get those nice blue skies back, still warm but bearable.
Wow! I had to post again! The sun just went in and the difference in the temperature was mad, it’s dropping now hurray and the sky has gone from hazy blue to cloudy. (see above posts heheh – told you so)
So maybe it will rain tomorrow, just be aware that if it does rain it will be a dirty rain with sand in it.
March 15th 2009
Today was baking hot once again with temperatures around 34ºC degrees! The calima still hasn’t shifted and according to reports, is going to be sticking around until at least tomorrow.
The beaches were more than packed for a Sunday today but personally I felt it impossible to be outside in the hairdryers. I’ve been sneezing for a almost a week because of this dust and sand.
I heard that tomorrow (Monday 16th) is going to be very cloudy down here in the south and south east coast, so let’s hope this calima disappears so we can all breathe again, I felt really sorry for anyone who had to work outside in this today.
The current temperature at 01:00 is 23.3ºC degrees!
March 14th 2009
Yesterday seemed a little better as the calima started to fade, but today the wind is once again blowy and the air is still dusty, the sky is hazy grey.
Local newspaper canarias7 warned yesterday that it will probably be lingering all weekend. Keep young children out of it and to keep doors and windows closed. I just heard my roof furniture going wild so once again just keep and eye on any flying outdoor stuff, plant pots on balconies and so on.
According to the webcams the temperature is 22.1ºC degrees but it feels much warmer so I will be able to tell you better once I have been out. It really isn’t sunbathing weather so take care, keep hydrated and stay out of the dust.
March 12th 2009
Last night I could hear the wind whistling round all night. It feels like someone left a hairdryer on as the wind is very warm. Out and about today I noticed the temperature clocks reading around 30-32ºC degrees! The sky is still hazy and grey. Be careful in this weather as you can still catch the sun through the clouds, drink plenty of water too as it’s very easy to dehydrate in these temps.
The air seems to have cooled down a little now, I’m hoping the wind doesn’t pick up like it did last night again as I have washing on the line on my roof that I need for tomorrow. I can just imagine finding my smalls in the street on the way out tomorrow.
I had a really restless sleep last night because of the noisy wind, normally I’m out like a light but I even had a nightmare that my plant fell off the balcony so I had to get up to check it. (it was still there)
The current temperature in south-west Gran Canaria is about 22ºC degrees, slowly dropping.
March 11th 2009
Yes, we definitely have a calima. The air is full of dust I can taste it, can’t stop sneezing and got a scratchy throat. The sun has tried its best to come out but the visibility is very bad and there is no division between the sky and the sea, it looks the same colour.
Grey sky of one big cloud, and looks like we could have some dusty rain. People with respiratory problems should take care and sometimes this weather is accompanied by big gusts of wind so although now is quite still, keep and eye on garden furniture and things that could blow over.
Last night was about 6ºC degrees warmer than usual and my trusty winter jacket was not needed for the first time all winter at night.
Current temperature in Arguineguin is 24.1ºC degrees and very humid.
March 10th 2009
Just sitting in my office now heard a big gust of wind whistle through. It has been really hot today compared to previous days with around 28ºC degrees!
According to the webcams it is still 27.8ºC degrees now at around 19:00h! I’d take a wild guess and say there is a calima lingering.
March 9th 2009
It rained on Saturday, but it didn’t stop the fun of the carnival. Sunday was a scorcher with clouds in the mountains and rain in the morning. Today we had a lot of cloud and it rained around 15:00h this afternoon, then it brightened up.
The current temperature at 23:00h is 20ºC degrees.
March 6th 2009
The current temperature 20.9ºC degrees in Arguineguin and it looks like rain! There is a large cloud over the Canary Islands at the moment and we have high chance of rain, grey sky and cool temps. I love it like this because I will be the first to moan when it goes into 40ºC degrees in the summer. It's a great day to go sightseeing, souvenir shopping or chilling out.
March 4th 2009
The night times in the mountain peaks (cumbres) of Gran Canaria have been quite cold lately with temperatures of -2ºC degrees!! A great frost has fallen and has left conditions quite dangerous, so it is better to avoid Pozo de Las Nieves and el Pico de Las Nieves zones.
AEMET declared the yellow weather warning in the Canary Islands for coastal phenomena that will affect the north of the islands until 00:00h on Thursday 5th March 2009.
The prediction of AEMET indicates that until then there will be waves in the north of 3 to 4 meters, that will affect the North coasts of all the archipelago, not including the coast of Fuerteventura. There is a possibility that waves will reach 4 to 5 meters in Lanzarote at the very end of morning and the first hours of Thursday.
March 3rd 2009
Today we have had a strong wind in Arguineguin with cloudy intervals. At around 15:00h this afternoon it was spitting although there were no clouds directly above, the wind was blowing it over. Now it is looking quite cloudy with the current temperature of 20ºC degrees.
March 2nd 2009
Well the clouds stuck around and it rained for a bit about 5 minutes ago, but looks like it could “lash it down”! Bring your washing in just incase!!
… and lash it down it did! At about 15:30h this afternoon the heavens opened even walking to the car I got drenched.!!! Be careful as tiled floors can be extra dangerous in this weather. The rain has stopped for now but looks like it could start up again.
March 1st 2009
The weather in Telde yesterday was strange. It started raining quite hard at Playa del Ingles on the way up there and then on and off up the coast. There have been some big clouds lurking near the mountains in El Tablero so I was wondering if they would make and appearance in Puerto Rico and they did.
Today we went up to San Agustin to sunbathe but in no time the big dark clouds came over so we carried on driving south. In Puerto Rico it was still sunny although you could see the sky turning cloudy, but not cold.
The current temperature in Arguineguin is around 20ºC degrees. The outlook for the next few days is rain, rain, rain, but they got it wrong last time so maybe it will blow past again, although it did get to Playa del Ingles yesterday afternoon.
