It had been a long time since we visited Alisios Shopping Center in the North of Gran Canaria. A calima day in the south turned into a much needed rainy day in the north. Perfect conditions after a very hot summer, to sit and enjoy some coffee and cake.
We first heard about Le Petite Merie via their instagram posts announcing the new opening of their very Parisian themed cafe and bakery in Triana, Las Palmas. That’s when we found out there was one in Alisios.
From the outside you’d think you were at a typical street cafe in the middle of Paris. The cute decor, French cafe style tables and chairs really adds to the atmosphere.
We had no idea what to expect from the types of cakes, but I had an idea it would be similar to the high standards of Yeray Reyes Pasteleria, which we’ve been to several times in Mogan Mall Puerto Rico.

There was so many delicious treats on display but Monkey Bread Manzana caught my eye and so we ordered that with some coffees. It was drizzling with rain but the canopy was out, so it was super cozy.
The first bite of the Monkey Bread was ethereal. It was like eating the love child of the best croissant in the world and something je ne sais quoi. The apple flavour mixed with the light cream and pastry was amazing! I’m not usually one for cream cakes but this was something else and the coffee complimented it nicely.
This was just what we needed to fuel some slow shopping before the drive down to Las Terrazas Shopping Center for lunch.
If you are in Los Alisios or Triana, make sure to look out for Le Petite Merie and take your sweet tooth!
