Hola from Gran Canaria! ☀️
Yesterday we were in the search of a Sunday Starbucks so we headed up to Alisios Shopping Center in Tamaraceite.
Down in south Gran Canaria the mid-October weather has been hot and hazy with calima for the last few days and we were hoping it would be a little cooler up north. It wasn't, but thankfully Starbucks had a nice cool AC on and we were able to enjoy the cozy vibes of the indoor seating.
I actually got a free Pumpkin Spice Latte because we purchased a You Are Here Starbucks Canary Islands mug. Bonus! This went down nicely with a slice of lemon cake. 🎃
The staff who served us informed us of a Starbucks in south Gran Canaria (more info soon) that we didn't even know about, hence the trip up north. It looks like a few more cafes have popped up in the last few years, gone are the days when you could only visit at the airport.
The center felt relatively quiet with it being Sunday and all the shops were closed, but when we got to the top floor we realized where everyone was and it was a tad chaotic.
There was a mixture of Halloween and Christmas decorations. Spooky pumpkins in one corner and a huge Christmas tree on the other side. One of my favourite things about this center is how the sun shines the colours from the roof onto the floor.
Top floors of shopping centers in the Canary Islands are usually where you find the restaurants, bars and leisure, in this case a Yelmo cinema. McDonalds was very busy as was Fosters Hollywood, KFC and in general there were a lot of families, having food and Sunday treats before heading to the cinema.
We were going to grab a Taco Bell meal, but that will be for a future visit. After a stroll around the much calmer lower floor, we decided to make the drive back down to the south.
Have you been to Alisios Shopping Center? Did you know we had Starbucks in Gran Canaria?
