Frozen Mountains of Gran Canaria – 14/02/12

The mountains of Gran Canaria were frozen over today, due to the cold snap in the islands. The GCBlog team left the south of the island where it was around 24ºc degrees and ended up in a very frosty, foggy Tejeda!

On arriving at a very cold Cruz de Tejeda it was decided a hot meal of gofio, papas con mojo and peppers were needed to warm up. El Refugio hotel and restaurant was the perfect choice.

The view from the restaurant, very foggy outside but there were heaters inside to keep warm:

After a nice meal, Parador de Tejeda hotel across the street was a cozy location for a coffee, with view of the outdoor pool:

Frozen trees greeted us on the way up to Pico de la Nieves:
